The Importance Of Bruce Karatz Philanthropic Efforts in California

Philanthropists are a very treasured part of America.  They are important for helping to grow and sustain communities, and to support them when they’re down.  That’s what Bruce Karatz has spent his entire life doing.  He’s created several different programs, and continues to devote a lot of his time to his charitable causes.

One of the most important coming in 2007 when he started the Keep Your Home Foundation.  A direct response to the housing crisis that had gripped the nation.  Karatz formed the organization to fight back for the people that were under the threat of losing their homes.

KYHF started providing mortgage relief and funds for those in need.  Committing hundreds of hours of fundraising time, to raise money for the people most in need, and to help keep California afloat.

Of course he’s also known for his work with Homeboy Industries.  This is a unique organization because they devote their time to helping youths involved with gangs find a way out of the life.

Karatz has donated both time, and consultations for the company.  The main problem they have is just raising enough money to keep afloat.  But Bruce had the idea for them to open up their own businesses, to keep bringing in profit and opportunity.  Which is why now Homeboy has a few bakeries, and even sells various products.

This type of commitment to the community is what more people need to express in their own lives.  Because of Bruce Karatz, California is gradually becoming a better, and better place.
